Summon Board Passive selections:

  • Alexander choose 3 / 5 / 6

    • 4 is 5% mBRV, 5 is 2% ATK 5% iBRV so we prefer 5 in this case

  • Odin choose 3 / 6 / 7

  • Bahamut choose 4 / 5 / 6

  • As Ceodore performs best at max HP, he never operates for more than a turn at low HP, so we recommend a few changes, but these aren't required

    • Shiva choose 1 / 2 / 4

    • Leviathan and Pandemonium choose 1 / 2 / 6

Gameplay Notes

  • Ceodore's play patterns can vary based on your team comp and the fight. For openings, you might want to get your LD buff active for the auras which means you'll have one less heal & cleanse later, so consider that depending on the fight at hand.

  • General rule of the thumb is to maintain your overhead effect, Awaken, with Awaken (skill 2) or Divine Heal (LD). LD is better when you need a full party heal/debuff cleanse, S2 is better to heal himself/cleanse self debuffs. Just remember that LD also has a framed buff that you'll want to maintain.

    • Technically these skills enable Ceodore to have Awaken active for a total of 36 turns, but if you want to avoid it falling off, it drops to 28 turns (~78 turn quest). If you let the effect fall off, prepare a huge heal or a tank/cover with another party member if you are worried about the enemy attacking him.

    • If Ceodore has the last turn of a wave and Awaken falls off on that turn, in the next wave, you can reset wave to avoid the HP drain! thanks to Eons for showing this off!

  • With Awaken, his BRV+ is excellent for damage with BRV refund to help avoid being broken. The HP++ is a great option for good splash damage. Without Awaken, the HP++ is a great battery effect.

  • Saint's Blast is used to maintain his debuff, and also helps to recharge his EX

  • Vibra Plus recharges in either 2 skills, 1 S1 & 1 HP++, or 1 S2 & 2 HP++. The + version is enabled when the entire party is at 100% HP or more. In practice,

    • Ceodore technically can spam skills but you will find that you will need to let Awaken fall off sometimes or use the downgraded version of his EX.

  • HP Heal Advance All is a nice 20% burst heal for the party, which you can use before your EX to hopefully full heal your party and enable more damage.

  • We have mapped out multiple skill chain considerations with various openings, and conclude that as stated in the graphic, Ceodore will have to often choose between:

    • longevity in battle, reduced damage, high risk windows vs

    • reduced longevity, high damage, safety (recommended)

Team Synergy Notes

  • Check our healer section on our roles page for some great choices for Ceodore, but easily said, some of the best choices are:

    1. His father, Paladin Cecil - has overhealing, HP Regen, and good burst healing

    2. Warrior of Light - protect the party from most HP damage

    3. Arciela - HP Attack Disable can freeze enemies in their tracks, plenty of healing throughout her kit

    4. Guy - relieve pressure from him, party healing, increased weakness damage

    5. Beatrix or Kimahri - avoid HP damage, plenty of healing options

There are lots more options across our Tanks, HP DMG mitigation, and healers sections to choose from, don't be limited by just these call outs!

Sphere Recommendations

  • A sphere - BRV DMG is king, and Ceodore is a good match for spheres that trigger based on dealing weakness damage. ATK is a fine secondary option. Even though he drains his HP, do not give him Rinoa or D Cecil sphere since he’ll heal himself back up.

  • C sphere - His own sphere is premium for him to help keep the party healthy, but consider that Garnet is probably the best stat wise, as he will heal himself every 4-5 turns. Avoid 3T healing triggers,

  • D sphere - Focus on ATK spheres, 3T buff spheres should be fine but you may very occasionally lose the benefit of it as S2, HP++, and EX do not buff him.

Removable Passives

(to remove if you run out of CP space)
  • If you need space, you can remove your Resist choices from Shiva Leviathan Pandemonium, they're minor effects

  • DEF passives

  • Generally, it is not recommended to remove speed passives from your damage dealers, or really anyone in general, unless trying for a specific strategy, but these two passives have no associated stat boosts, so they can be removed if absolutely needed and do not change his EX recharge from our tests.
