Gameplay Notes

  • MADOYO

  • Always keep an eye on Terra’s Magic stacks above her head, max is 9.

    • When 5+ : Access to + skills, but + skills will consume 4 each.

    • Stacks do not decrease while she has her LD buff.

    • When < 5 : Downgraded skills, but skills will add 5 each.

    • EX will max her stacks up to 9

  • Meltdown has many BRV gains, so it’s good when she has a low BRV amount or when she needs to bypass high defense/BRV DMG reduction. This drops her DEF debuff, which isn’t that impactful, but it’s better than nothing.

    • Meltdown is “easy” damage, since it’s simple for her to cap under typical Lufenia conditions

  • Meteor has many BRV hits and a double dump, so it’s good to use when she has high BRV. The only time you would want to use Meteor continuously is if any of the following are true:

    • Vs 1 enemy

    • Terra is enchanted and hitting weakness enabling her to cap

    • BRV DMG up buffs and debuffs are deployed enabling her to cap

    • Friend or Self BT effect is active

  • Riot Blade is the weakest skill in her kit, but it maxes her Magic stacks and certainly isn’t a bad skill, just not as good as Meltdown, Meteor, or Chaos Wave.

  • Chaos Wave can be used whenever you need it. She will get 5 turns in a row, 4 being instant turn and free skill uses. Try to maximize her damage in these windows using the continuous Meteor considerations above. While you can save these all for a BT effect to be up, but sometimes you need breathing room in a fight to heal back up.

    • While only Noctis is the best option currently, allies that follow-up any team attack with their own attack will synergize to an unbelievable level alongside Terra. Upcoming characters like Yang, Cloud of Darkness, & Exdeath enable incredible levels of damage output alongside Terra.

  • Trance Ultima is a single target attack, so be mindful if you are trying to keep damage even. The setup here is incredibly flexible, just consider:

    • Ending the BT phase with LD means she will cut into her 10T BT effect for her allies, so depending on party comp, you might want to the eat entire effect with Terra, or save it for allies, or go half and half.

Team Synergy Notes

  • Terra deals damage, and works with most characters, so just support her! Check our roles page for characters that cover staples roles of BRV DMG up, HP DMG up, and Enchant/Imperil!

Sphere Recommendations

  • A sphere - Focus on BRV DMG & ATK... 10% BRV DMG > 15% MATK > 10% ATK & mBRV > 10% ATK > 5% ATK & anything

  • D sphere - Focus on any ATK sphere, avoid Wakka since she only has 5 buffs during her LD windows. Hope is best, the others are great.

  • E sphere - She debuffs on her main skills, so most are completely fine for her. Only her own Lufenia boss resists both of her debuffs, so moving forward, she’s in the clear, so just be aware of debuff real estate (6 debuffs will prevent her from dropping her generics). Seymour's sphere is absolutely best for her, since she only needs to debuff on 5 turns for the effect to be always on, which is useful if you max out framed debuffs late in the fight!

Removable Passives

  • BRV Attack+ Up (you’ll never press this button)

  • HP Attack+ Up (you’ll also never press this button)

  • BRV Attack++ Up (seriously? Yea, you’re still not pressing it)

  • HP Attack++ Up (potential record for most number of useless character board passives)

  • Kill BRV Gain (one of the worst passives in the game)

  • Break Bonus Up (marginal effect)
