Supplementary Notes to the Infographic Analysis:

The infographic covers the key critical points and should be reviewed prior to delving into the in-depth notes

How-To-Play Notes

  • Ciaran maintains 5 stacks of his special effect thanks to his LD - use it to maintain your buff, though it’s OK to let it fall off for a turn or two, but make sure you have it for summon or burst phase.

  • Soulshot++ is now easy to maintain thanks to the LD buff, providing great splash damage, and you will generally spam this unless you are about to lose a buff.

  • Bash is generally just used to upkeep the buff. You can also strategically use it to charge EX if you expect to need AoE shaving upcoming in the fight.

  • Holyrastrike is your big damage 100% AoE attack. It’s great in summon, and always use your free ability on it.

  • Caravan Memories is the worst skill in his kit, but it does BRV shave AoE for him. You mainly only use this to upkeep his EX buff, and that’s it.

Team Synergy Notes

  • Ciaran handles auras very capably, he can act as the sole support on a team, but note that he lacks healing, so cover that with calls or Alexander summon

  • His iBRV and DEF auras are the most unique, offering interesting teammates with Warrior of Light, Aphmau, Beatrix, and Desch, among others.

Sphere Recommendations

NOTE: The sphere letters below are hyperlinked to our Sphere Hub which lists all available spheres sorted by effect!
  • A sphere: Focus ATK & BRV DMG primarily. Hitting secondary stats like mBRV, iBRV, & overflow is nice as well. His own sphere is great for him if you don’t have another favorite that frequently caps BRV where it would shine.

  • B sphere: Avoid HP DMG & target based spheres. Celes & Gabranth are well suited for him.

  • C sphere: Avoid self healing triggers, which doesn’t leave many options. He buffs fairly often enough for Alphinaud’s sphere, but it’s probably best to just opt for a 6T effect or one that triggers off of attacking. Krile is probably the best choice for him. Paladin Cecil’s is close behind, as is Y’shtola. Rosa, Porom, Arciela are nice.

Removable Passives

NOTE: Passives should generally only be removed if you lack CP space. There are very rare occasions where a character has a bad passive that disrupts their optimal gameplay.
  • BRV Attack++ HP Attack++ Up: 100% useless, Soulshot overrides HP++ and BRV++ is so rarely used that you won’t want this minor effect.

  • DEF Passives

  • Buff Speed: Don’t remove this for Lufenia, it doesn’t change his recast and makes it more likely for bosses to run circles around you.
