Sphere Recommendations

NOTE: The sphere letters below are hyperlinked to our Sphere Hub which lists all available spheres sorted by effect!
  • A Spheres: CoD is a magic attacker that prefers to break. Give them BRV DMG, ATK or Magic ATK spheres with these conditions in mind!

How-to-Play Notes

These notes are thanks to the work of Renki#4255, who proactively wrote these notes, allowing Ink to edit & add them here.
  • TLDR: CoD wants to grab as many breaks as possible on their turn. If multiple enemies are unbroken, use BRV+ into a free turn S1 to boost your Darkness stacks +4 (max 5 unless using LD). Never use S2 with 1, 2, 3, or 4 Darkness stacks unless the AoE delay is battle critical.

    • As a friend, CoD doesn't want breaks since it will jump turn and burn through BT effect.

      • Enemies normally unBREAK themselves 5T after they are broken

      • Consider using a non-attack AA on an ally to let the enemy unbreak (CoD won't follow up), then your ally can use their turn to break the enemy, then CoD will follow-up, and won't get the break/turn jump!

  • Insulating Appendages is for shaving AoE. If not shaving AoE, this is just fodder for recharging their Fast EX and building your Darkness stacks.

  • Wide-Angle Particle Beam is really only when you are at 0 stacks of Darkness, for an AoE 1T delay. If you have any stacks, Wide Angle will drop you to 0, which is a waste. Once you’re at 5+ stacks, this turns into a free skill use of:

    • Zero-Form Particle Beam is a massive 3 turn delay with 6 HP attacks against a target and 1 splash attack on other enemies. This drops your Darkness stacks by 5.

  • High Speed Particle Beam is its LD, and is used either to maintain the 12T Balance from Ruin buff, or if you anticipate needing a 3T delay, then you can use this far ahead of the buff falling off. It’s best used against a broken target to take advantage of the unbreak.

    • You can get up to max 25 stacks of Darkness, even though you can technically use it at 25 in BT window, it still caps at 25.

  • Anti-air Particle Beam is its EX ability, and it recharges in 2 skill uses and it delays the target by a turn.

  • Don’t forget to use Break Reset Burst to unbreak an enemy when you want to build up stacks of Darkness more quickly, or push an enemy back a turn.

  • Ultra Particle Beam unleashes their mighty BT attack and BT effect which grants CoD a linked-attack after an ally attacks.

  • Void-Form Particle Beam is their FR and is heavily tailored for delayers as the biggest FR HP DMG Bonus it grants comes from normal delays (50%). This makes CoD a great user for the FR in its BT phase however other strong delayers while CoD follows up is another solid option.

    • CoD's linked attack breaking an enemy will satisfy the magic and BREAK delay condition for +25% on an off-turn attack!
