Sphere Recommendations
NOTE: The sphere letters below are hyperlinked to our Sphere Hub which lists all available spheres sorted by effect!A Sphere - iBRV for his niche, ATK/BRV DMG for his attacks.
C Sphere - Alphinaud sphere, Maria if you run him with a healer
E Sphere - He debuffs alot so the usual E spheres, MATK is fine too
How-To-Play Notes
Since Fusoya's EX is active at the start, use EX and just follow this simplified priority guide:
Lunar Quake (LD) for damage & extending Paralysis or EX for damage
Hold (S2) if you need Paralyze
Spirit Blast (S1) for buff upkeep
BT phase is just spam EX since his BT effect makes him an EX-spamming damage dealer. Utility be hecked!
Extra Notes
Thanks to LegEater for their thorough Fusoya notes they allowed Cel to edit and publish!LD Buff (About the debuff extension):
Fusoya has an E sphere slot and naturally he can equip debuff inflicting spheres. The debuffs from these spheres are affected by anything Fusoya does including pressing his LD to extend them, or his LD buff itself sliver framing it.
A fun trick you can try is to make Fusoya hold a DEF Down Sphere and overwrite that with more potent wave start CA debuffs like Laguna, somehow Fusoya takes ownership of the call's DEF Down debuff and can extend them the entire fight. (DISCLAIMER: This could be a bug that JP failed to fix)
About the his BRV Gains after HP attacks:
This "party BRV Gain after HP attack" effect is accessible through his LD call. It is unique in that the effect doesn't rely on HP Damage dealt, making him (or his LD call) a nice way to cut through HP Shields faster. As an LD call this can also be good to attach to the slowest unit or the unit with the highest iBRV as the LD call uses the caller's iBRV stat.
This BRV Gain is also counted separately and therefore "stackable" with other BRV Refunds like Snow and other innate BRV gains after HP attacks (allowing him to unconventionally bypass BRV Gain Limits), so go wild on buffing your iBRV! (Base Attack Up Spheres your time has come!)
Note with the introduction of A5 and Queen, these BRV gains do combine as they're based on stats instead of HP DMG dealt.
Skill Rundown
Spirit Blast (S1): A filler AoE attack that refreshes Fusoya's [Bless] buff.
Hold (S2): A single target HP attack with splash that applies Paralyze and SPD Down to all enemies. Low damage and is pressed only for utility.
Twin Meteor (EX): His highest damaging button, press whenever possible. This offers a 20% HP Damage Taken Up Debuff and a buff to Fusoya which offers good stats.
Lunar Quake (LD): A full AoE Attack that extends (but does not apply) all of his debuffs by 2T. He gains a buff from his LD that has relevant party buffs, allows him to silver frame his own debuffs and grants the party BRV Gains after every HP Attack based on Fusoya's iBRV. (Extra Notes for further details)
The LD attack itself is good to press during Force Time for damage and extending Paralysis, he has so much longevity that you can ignore the free skill he gets from his LD.
In summon, Fusoya can spam LD to extend his Paralyze debuff up to 10 turns at max!
Omni Blast (FR) is an AoE magic attack applies his Paralyze for 2 turns, the conditions are as follows:
BRV Regen: +30% (Fusoya's S1 buff covers this..)
Attack a debuffed enemy: +45% (Fusoya's EX debuff, SPD Down or Paralysis. FR Boards brought this up and made it accessible to the entire party in full)
Additionally; Fusoya grants party members the ability to heal after attacking and party BRV Gains Up by 30%. The ability to allow your party to heal after every attack can be situationally useful when meeting low HP requirement stages and thick HP Poison auras.
The 2T Paralyze is the best way for Fusoya to start completely locking down enemies as he only needs 1 more turn to press his LD and extend his Paralyze back to 3T. Essentially allowing him to use LD once every 2 enemy turns and keep them locked down.
Black Magic to Eradicate Evil (BT) is a weird addition to his kit. Perhaps the devs confused him with another old man who likes using his EX and would like higher self HP DMG Limit (Strago). We say this because he gets:
EX refill after his turns. This leans toward a damage dealing focus which can be great in BT phase however so many other damaging units have come out before and after him that do more damage. The EX also doesn't extend his debuff durations like LD can so using EX outside of BT phase doesn't help his debuffer identity.
Self HP DMG Limit up which for reasons listed above feels weird.
