Sphere Recommendations
A Spheres: His own sphere and Layle's are the spheres that very few characters can use. Otherwise, max ATK and BRV DMG without thinking.
E Spheres: Same focus as above, ATK is king. Yuffie, Irvine, Seymour, Emperor...the choice is yours.
How-to-Play Notes
The most important part of Noctis's kit is to understand his + versions and turn jumping. His + versions of Shooting Star and Warp Strike are enabled once you hit a broken enemy with the base variants, and have bonus effects. One of those effects is that Noctis, after acting, will move his next turn in front of your target's next turn, but only if his next turn is after the target's next turn! Don't get it yet? No problem, here it is in image :
Be careful! If in this example Noctis played twice before B, his turn wouldn't move in front of A. Noctis will only move his turn before the enemy's turn if Noctis's next turn is after the enemy's turn. This makes Noctis very compatible with delayers, as you can safely delay your enemies without fear that this mechanic will delay Noctis anymore.
With Steel Pirouette's (LD) buff [Warpstep], your entire team benefits this turn jump effect! Isn't that fun? That buff CANNOT be extended.
[Point-Blank Warp] is also one of Noctis's core mechanics, which will trigger a bonus attack on enemies you hit with Shooting Star+ (S1), Warp Strike+ (S2), Conjure Armiger+ (EX), Steel Pirouette (LD) and HP++. Note that only non + versions of Shooting Star and Warp Strike can inflict that debuff (other than the EX)
Shooting Star (S1+) launches the target and makes the other enemies launchable once
Warp Strike (S2+) is mainly single target focused
Conjure Armiger (EX) reapplies his buff comfortably and grants him a free skill use
Legacy of the Lucii (BT) grants him his follow up after anyone attacks the enemy along with other useful auras.
Some advanced strategies for 0T runs is starting out with his BT phase (after AA) and using LD -> S1/S2 -> EX -> S1/S2 -> S1/S2 -> FR -> BT finisher
Ending with LD or FR allows his Finisher to count as a free turn to not add to the turn count. S1 is usually used in 2+ target fights and allows launches and S2 is usually used in single target fights.
Inherited Heart (FR) is pretty straightforward as it asks for:
Acting after a party member : 40%
Stacking buff/effect on turn : 40% (usually has roman numerals, some instances like Garland LDCA or Terra's Magic stacks are normal numbers)
Removable Passives
NOTE: Passives should generally only be removed if you lack CP space. There are very rare occasions where a character has a bad passive that disrupts their optimal gameplay.BRV Attack+ BRV Attack++ Up (never used)
Break Speed Up (10% SPD for a turn after breaking isn't much)
Shooting Star Focused Attack (useless in AoE fights)
Steel Pirouette Focused Attack (useless in AoE fights)
Smash Attack Up (marginal ATK boost (10%) for a turn after launching...)
