Sphere Recommendations

NOTE: The sphere letters below are hyperlinked to our Sphere Hub which lists all available spheres sorted by effect!
  • A Sphere - Not necessarily an attacker, but ATK & iBRV spheres like Enna Kros, Lightning, Machina or Jecht compliment her kit well. Otherwise any other ATK, BRV DMG or ATK & mBRV spheres will do her well.

  • C Sphere - No Encouragement armor so boost the party's stats with Alphinaud, Maria or Llyud!

  • D Sphere - Focus on the usual Party ATK boosting spheres.

How-To-Play Notes

  • Lunafreya in party can be used to charge the Force Gauge with S1. Her LD restores a use of S1 and S2 and gives her a free skill use right after so make sure you used an S1 before pressing LD for more skills to charge with!

  • Besides charging FR gauge, her main draw are her LD buffs that she places on allies depending on what side of Lunafreya they stand on (which can also be individually applied with her transformed BRV/HP Commands - Quick Prayer and Heavy Prayer respectively.)

  • Quick Prayer buff grants the ally free and instant turns while the buff is active which is great for setting up a big damage phase whether it's FR into BT+ into BT phase or BT+ into FR or whatever combo you may need a couple turns in a row for!

  • Heavy Prayer buff allows the ally with the buff to deal some extra True HP DMG (not affected by HP DMG up or FR bonus effects) based on 10% of the ally's HP DMG Limit

  • Her BT effect allows Lunafreya to apply buffs for 1T longer which can be valuable if a unit needs that extra turn in very specific setups.

  • Her EX provides her with a buff that enchants the party with ice and other stat boosts. It also places her framed Ice & Water Resist down debuff on enemies.

  • Her S2 is filler if you expect her to attack and EX isn't up or you don't want to use LD. It also can apply her framed Ice & Water Resist down debuff

  • Her FR True enchants the party with water which is useful since her Force Conditions ask for:

    • Ice BRV DMG on turn +20%

    • Water BRV DMG on turn +20%

    • Apply a buff to allies on turn +20%

  • On non-elemental attackers this means +40% usually with some units being able to get +60% if they can apply a buff to a single other ally (Cor) or to multiple allies (Auron, Galuf, Gladio).

A different approach to explaining how her LD buffs allies:

    • If she's in the top slot, LD will apply Heavy Prayer to both her allies.

    • If she's in the middle, LD will apply Quick Prayer to the top slot ally and Heavy Prayer to the bottom slot ally

    • If she's in the bottom slot, LD will apply Quick Prayer to both her allies.

    • This usually doesn't matter as when she has 4 stacks of Trident of Calling her BRV/HP commands will transform letting you select an ally to apply the specific buff you want on that specific ally. You also don't need to press the transformed BRV/HP commands every time she gets 4 stacks.

For those tight on resources and worried about everyone hyping up Lunafreya

  • BT can give her more flexibility and open up more strategies (such as using her entire BT phase to charge gauge, allowing 0 turn runs or going for an extra turn of Quick Prayer on a hard-hitting LD only character to make the most of the final turns of FR Time!)

  • Her FR grants her flexibility if you want to take her in party and need an FR Time with 2 allies without a Force Weapon.

  • Her LDCA also provides her buffs albeit for 1T shorter durations compared to her in party which is usually enough for most comfy setups in Force Time.
