Sphere Recommendations
A Spheres: Mix of your best ATK and BRV DMG spheres, but don’t look to King’s sphere, unless you’re planning on killing the enemy within 16 turns…
How-To-Play Notes
Zell has so many relevant buttons to press… bear with us.
Punch Rush & Booya will both buff Duel and trigger each other if Zell is healthy, so use Punch Rush if you want an instant turn and more EX recharge, and Booya if you want a high turn rate and let allies rebuff you. Booya inflicts a huge DEF down which gets inflicted regardless of which button you press.
With his Duel buff, he has stats up, and his skills change. Burning Rave shaves AoE and has 100% splash. You can also use Meteor Barrage for more single target damage... ok, now Duel is gone
His EX will also buff Duel, and upgrade his BRV/HP to Combo variants. Same logic as above, Burning for AoE, Meteor for single target. If you’re running a firecracker style team comp with a BT character like Tidus or Terra, you may never want to press EX, but his EX + Combo is great for longevity purposes. His EX does more damage with his C85 passive adding more BRV and HP hits so press it all the time.
Now the LD… Maximum Duel is an instant turn massive attack that lets Zell unbreak enemies for the next 4 turns, and he gets upgraded stats. Use this while you have Duel so the LD deals even more damage,
Burning Combo for AoE, Meteor Combo for ST. Both are strong options with C85 changes and more battery.

My Final Heaven with Duel buff will deal even more damage
Sneak in his Set Duel Blow where possible (probably before LD turn hogging) as it gives him some healthy buffs for 6T
Removable Passives
NOTE: Passives should generally only be removed if you lack CP space. There are very rare occasions where a character has a bad passive that disrupts their optimal gameplay.BRV Attack+ Up (never used)
Duel Speed Up (30% SPD up… generally keep your attackers fast)
High Speed Buff Up (holy crap, 70% SPD up? But yea, fast attackers kill enemy fast)
Vigor (ATK +10% for 3T only at the start of a wave…)
My Final Heaven Focused Attack Lv9 (useless in AoE fights)
