Supplementary Notes to the Infographic Analysis:
The infographic covers the key critical points and should be reviewed prior to delving into the in-depth notesHow-To-Play Notes
Kurasame’s Hyōrō debuff is his most impactful part of his kit. It appears when he enters the field even on calls if he has EX+ 2/3!
Absolute Zero has party auras attached to it, so opening with it is fine if you choose to. It also boosts his debuff to 5 stacks, so it’s good to use it specifically to keep up his buffs, or when you need to ready a big damage window. It’s not good to use at all right before the enemy goes, since the debuff will reset to 1 stack after their turn.
The free skill use is best used on Multi Blizzaga or his AA.
Ice Blade Renzan is for shaving a single target’s BRV, and just for upkeeping his buff, it doesn’t hit particularly hard though.
Multi Blizzaga is your AoE shave, and your way to ramp up the Hyōrō debuff after it resets back to 1 stack (+2 stacks)
Ice Reaper recharges in 2 skill uses - and it’s important to get and maintain his EX buff as it has his useful follow-up. With his new free skill uses, he can spam skills for 29 turns, translating to a 87 turn quest.
His AA is the strongest skill in his kit probably due to the BRV refund into his Ice Pillar follow-up, and is one of the best AA’s in the game, so don’t sleep on it!
Team Synergy Notes
Kurasame’s call is so useful, it will be a staple in any fight that doesn't resist elemental imperil debuffs, of which there are only 3 remaining in Lufenia.
Kurasame is quite flexible with team comps really. The most important thing is having a big damage dealer alongside him, BT characters especially really like him.
Note that his HP DMG up stacks with others, check them out on our roles page!
He can spam skills & EX for 25 turns - if you expect to swap him or finish the fight under 75 turns taken, you probably never need to touch his HP++. This is especially notable since he enables big damage dealers so much.
Sphere Recommendations
NOTE: The sphere letters below are hyperlinked to our Sphere Hub which lists all available spheres sorted by effect!A sphere: Focus on BRV DMG & ATK completely, don’t be distracted by other stats
D sphere: Any of the attack based D spheres are great, just not Wakka
E sphere: Focus ATK & Melee ATK, Auron is a great choice, as are the usual generic suspects in Seymour, Emperor… and to an extent Yuffie if you plan to only skill spam.
Removable Passives
NOTE: Passives should generally only be removed if you lack CP space. There are very rare occasions where a character has a bad passive that disrupts their optimal gameplay.DEF passives
Break Bonus Up (marginal benefit)
BRV Attack++ HP Attack++ (but only if you do not plan to use these attacks and just plan to spam skills as noted in Gameplay Notes above)
