How-To-Play Notes
You’ll want to open with Strago’s AA, Set Soul of Thamasa Attack Up, to gain his valuable buff. Maintain this buff at all times! If you lose it, you will need to use EX/LD without but you will lose out on the double cast or use your AA again. Your attacks won’t execute twice unless you have this buff at the time you use the skill.
Quasar (S1) and BRV 2 Death (S2) are filler and are only used in case of emergencies or buff refresh.
Sabre Soul (EX) is his big damage button (so is LD) and you want to use it as much as possible. For this reason U4 is great for him especially in BT phase. Bahamut Summon is also a great friend for the end of FR time.
Grand Delta (LD) unbreaks & instant-breaks enemies twice as long as you have Soul of Thamasa buffed. This is his best form of utility. He has lots of uses of this, and it gives him a free ability use after, which should usually be Quasar. It does as much damage as EX and can be used in FR time if EX is down.
Pinnacle of Blue Magic (BT) grants the party the usual stats but is also allows Strago the ability to cast THREE times (except for FR because the devs hate FF6 characters having fun).
Echo -> S2 -> EX -> S1 -> S1 -> LD (If no U4/Enna LDCA)
Burning 1000 Needles (FR) breaks unbroken enemies before the first BRV hit connects. It will also pull enemies out of their broken state after each HP. It asks for:
+20% for Magic ability on turn
+40% on BREAK/vs broken enemies (+60% if it was Strago's turn)
This is an easy 60% for magic attackers and 80% for Strago.
Allies attacking a broken enemy will gain 50% HP DMG and Limit which is easy to achieve in most fights and a significant boost.
Team Synergy Notes
Pair him with Supports/BT effects that provide HP DMG Limit to make his EX hit that much harder.
Allies with EX recharge like Rem are great to keep Strago hitting extremely hard with EX. Bahamut Summon's Megaflare buff will also keep Strago spamming EX which is great in Force Time.
Strago with Lunafreya's Quick Prayer and calling Bahamut Summon on his turn deals MONSTROUS damage at the end of Force Time if setup correctly.
For his FR time, he wants magic attackers, however he's may better off using BT phase early to raise the FR HP DMG Bonus high for allies to capitalize on with Echo attacks in summon especially if allies aren't magic attackers.
Removable Passives
NOTE: Passives should generally only be removed if you lack CP space. There are very rare occasions where a character has a bad passive that disrupts their optimal gameplay.BRV Attack++ HP Attack++ Dualcast Up (Strago is a skill spammer so you won’t need this in most cases!)
Bonus Up All (5% BREAK Bonus Up is marginal at best)
Buff Speed Up (SPD +10% has no other stats with it, so it can be removed if needed, but it’s usually not wise to slow down your aggressive damage dealer)
