Sphere Recommendations

NOTE: The sphere letters below are hyperlinked to our Sphere Hub which lists all available spheres sorted by effect!
  • A Spheres - Boost their BRV DMG, ATK or MATK so their BRV hits do the most damage possible since they lack BRV gains

  • D Sphere - Boost party's ATK. They need another buff from somewhere to satisfy Wakka's sphere condition

How-to-Play Notes

These notes are thanks to the work of Renki#4255, who proactively wrote these notes, allowing Ink to edit & add them here.
  • TLDR: All buffs active at Quest Start, so just start spamming base + skills or LD. If Mirage buffs fall off, you can use LD or AA to get the buffs back in a snap without downtime but their C85 should extend them enough in normal play.

    • Their damage is also heavily dependent on the number of enemies, 3 being a dream, 2 being great, 1 being awful. If you are fighting a boss with adds that constantly leave and re-enter the fight, their damage will fluctuate throughout the fight. Their playstyle will not change however. Be wary if an enemy absorbs multiple elements, as this can cut into their damage output. Mirage S and Mirage L are required for their + variations.

  • Their base skills are best used in their + variants. The base versions deal split damage while + versions deal full (split = dmg divided over enemy count while full is dmg to all enemies in full). Base versions will apply their Mirage buffs, however if fully built they should never let these drop anymore.

    • Thunder & Geocrush+ is a high turn rate thunder and earth attack with instant break. Non+ will grant their Mirage S buff.

    • Blizzard and Water is an ice and water attack that debuffs SPD down slightly. Non+ will grant their Mirage L buff.

  • Sonic Fangs is a fire attack that increases Mirage S and Mirage L by 3 turns, grants Stack Enchant on Lann and Reynn, inflicts Stack Resist Down on all targets, and breaks them before attacking. Stack Enchant enchants Lann and Reynn with Fire, Ice, Water, Thunder, and Earth. Stack Resist Down imperils the enemy against all the same elements.

  • Megaflare is a strong attack that will trigger twice if there are at least 2 enemies. The next ability use will be free, and either skill suffices since they're both high damage. This will also grant Mirage S and Mirage L and Summon Mega Mirage while inflicting enemies with Stack Resist Down. Summon Mega Mirage grants strong buffs to Lann and Reynn depending on how many enemies you are facing.

  • Revised Blossom Storm’s BT Aura grants strong stat buffs to the party depending on how many enemies you are facing. Ideally you want to use this while facing 3 enemies, but 2 enemies is the typical norm and is still great.

  • Set Mirage SL is very useful as it will grant Mirage S and Mirage L for 2 turns along with boosted ATK and raised BRV DMG Limit!
