Sphere Recommendations
NOTE: The sphere letters below are hyperlinked to our Sphere Hub which lists all available spheres sorted by effect!A Spheres - Focus on any ATK/BRV DMG, weak damage triggers are fine since she hits weakness vs her Snakebite targets.
D Sphere - Focus on any ATK sphere outside of Wakka.
How-To-Play Notes
Seven’s skills are generally focused on one enemy at a time, and it’s the enemy that has the Snakebite debuff. Focus all your attacks on that enemy and use LD if you need to switch.
Open with Diving Strike (LD) to get your auras & debuff active. This gives you a one-use HP+ called Bondage Whip (detailed further below). You're next time to use Diving Strike will be generally to upkeep your Thoughtful Heart buff unless you need to switch targets.
Next use Elementalash (S2) on the Snakebitten enemy. It'll execute twice and you'll get your attack buff.
Elementalash should ONLY be used on a target that has her Snakebite debuff. No Snakebite? No Elementalash.
This attack is fire ice thunder element, if the enemy is weak to ANY of these, the weakness damage will override any absorbs/resistances. See our explanations on Elemental Weakness damage in our Glossary for more info. In fights with Elemental Lockouts, this may hold her damage back unless supplemented with BRV gains of some sort.
With your LD buff and ATK buff active, you can use HP+ Bondage Whip to get her remaining buff. Every action by any ally or enemy will trigger it's effect; Seven will have a small AoE attack and a BRV gain each time. Giving Seven battery won't boost the damage, it's locked to her ATK stat.
This follow-up attack scales from FR Bonus so enjoy a useful HP Poison for once!
Sadistic Spikes (EX) recharges in 2 skill uses or 1 skill and 1 Bondage Whip (you only have 4 Bondage Whip uses though). Sadistic Spikes gives you back a use Snakebite & Lash as well.
Snakebite & Lash (S1) is the last resort to inflict her debuff. It's not as damaging as S2 and LD inflicts her debuff with 3 stacks at a moments notice so it's generally not used.
Dark Blast (FR) applies Snakebite at 3 stacks on the target which is great because her FR time asks for:
Targetting a Snakebitten enemy (+15% per stack, 45% max)
Perform a single target attack (+30%)
Fun fact about this single target attack condition is if part of main attack is single target (Raines EX into Impact Strike, Tidus EX/LD into regular shot, Seymour EX or LD into his Chainspell follow up, etc) would trigger this condition.
As an Echo attack, this move can hit a target VERY hard if it's fully boarded.
Team Synergy Notes
Check our debuffers page to not only look for stacking debuffs with her, but also imperilers (at the bottom of the debuffers page) to allow Elementalash hit for weakness.
Check DissidiaDb’s call finder for a full list of calls that imperil fire, ice, or thunder! Seven hitting weakness on any of these will allow Elementalash to hit weakness through any absorb.
Single Target attackers can make the most use of her FR, however she performs well in on and off-turn teams thanks to her Bondage Whip follow-up scaling with FR Time.
Removable Passives
NOTE: Passives should generally only be removed if you lack CP space. There are very rare occasions where a character has a bad passive that disrupts their optimal gameplay.HP Attack+ HP Attack++ Up (never ever use these over a skill)
BRV Attack+ Up (you never need this unless you need to hold BRV, and even then, you generally don’t need to shave)
Initiative (only boosts SPD for the first 3T of a wave, so low utility)
