Sphere Recommendations
NOTE: The sphere letters below are hyperlinked to our Sphere Hub which lists all available spheres sorted by effect!Their Frog overhead ensures personal Rainbows and the BT effect maxes out HP damage (as long as you're not broken) these don't matter.
Here's our Sphere Hub page anyway. Quina has A A D
How-To-Play Notes
Eat (S1) is a single target attack. It gives a stack of Frogs Captured
Frog Drop (S2) is an aoe attack. The enhanced version is even stronger.
Limit Glove (EX) is a strong AoE attack that unbreaks enemies and deals rainbow damage
Mustard Bomb (LD) doesn't hit hard but applies Heat which is a very good trap. It triggers before the enemy turn (think Cor/Maria) which can be very powerful.
Ultimate Cook (BT) has a short duration, but provides the ability for the party to deal their HP DMG Limit if they're not broken in addition to other generic buffs.
It also unlocks Cook (replaces S1) which hits extremely hard
Way of Gourmand (FR) batteries the party and unbreaks the enemy. It provides the party with BRV DMG & Limit during their FR time
It asks for:
9,999+ BRV damage on a BRV hit on turn: +30%
How many frogs has Quina snacked on: +4% per frog, 40% max. Everyone benefits from this effect on their turn and can get up to 70% FR Bonus.
Team Synergy Notes
The only things the BT effect doesn't help are uncapped HP attacks such as Sherlotta's LD overhead, Aerith's BT overhead, Jack Garland's 3rd HP attack on Soul Burst follow ups, etc.
Most of the time, using Quina in a rushdown team isn't as helpful as having a follow-up unit or other Aurabot with better HP DMG limit due to how powerful BT effects and calls are.
Quina in an trap/counter team is a monster due to their trap dealing so much damage and potentially breaking the enemy before their turn to trigger more uses in quick succession. The rainbow also allows Quina to BRV shave an enemy that may have posed a threat if they kept the BRV for a scary attack. Just note EX and FR will push enemies back most of the time.
They allow some interesting strategies thanks to their EX Recharge up when paired with Ultimecia and Selphie with EX+ 1/3 as Ultimecia can loop EX and free skill uses forever unless the fight forces a delay or has an FR condition where enemies heal the amount of damage taken.
Quina with Rubicante is a menace as Quina helps Rubi bypass almost all mechanics outside of forced lethal attacks while providing solid damage through their Heat trap.
Overreliance on Quina may cause side effects such as: turning into a frog
How-To-Eat (Meme)
Get 80k - 100k gems (50 BT tokens also works)
Pull/Buy their BT weapon
Use 1 BT Book and 2 BT ingots to make BT+ 3/3
If you lack BT books or ingots, pull out your wallet
Press BT+ before force time
Watch all your units effortlessly deal their HP DMG Limit with ease with no thought.
If enemies HP attack, do summon boards for HP boosts i guess
Laugh at units with Full HP attacks who get fewer amounts of HP attacks compared to Split HP attacks
