Sphere Recommendations
NOTE: The sphere letters below are hyperlinked to our Sphere Hub which lists all available spheres sorted by effect!A Sphere - ATK or BRV DMG spheres. He will probably do weakness damage which can help justify Prishe/Rydia on top of the usuals. (See link for list)
B Sphere -Basch & Gladio as he eats HP attacks for breakfast
D Sphere - Boost Party ATK/mBRV
How-To-Play Notes
Dalmascan Enlistee enables pre-turn attack, 2+ stacks enables stronger version (4 HP attacks). He mainly gains stacks on getting hit so let him get hit as it is canon for him to take damage.
Blade Combo (S1) gives a stack of Dalmascan Enlistee too. AoE BRVs + Split HPs.
Shield Rush (S2) applies his cover buff to allies; it offers some mitigation. ST BRVs + HPs + Splash.
Yellow Storm (EX) does AoE BRV + ST HPs with brv gains with a splash hit to other enemies. It applies his debuff.
Debuff lowers their BRV/HP damage done while increasing HP DMG taken. It is also a thunder imperil.
Wide Ruin (LD) does AoE BRVS + Split HPs with BRV gains. Applies his LD buff and grants free skill use next turn.
His LD buff is party thunder enchant, party defensive and offensive auras.
Shining Nova (BT) provides good BT auras and prevents his overhead from lowering stacks and triggers his pre-turn attack before his turn (so he can do it twice) which is huge damage before his turn.
He can even use a high damaging call near the end of Force Time as he'll have 8 AoE HP attacks (with BT effect and 2+ stacks) + strong call damage, he comes back and will do 8 AoE HP attacks again before his turn. Cyan is his recommended call of choice as Cyan can fulfill the full 70% HP DMG Bonus, however Raines before BT phase is also fine if you can squeeze it in on the 8 or 7 turn mark of force time.
With personal pre-emptive attacks (Snow and Jegran also have these), if you swap a character in from the back, they will not do their attack, however if they are in the active party and their turn comes along, they will pre-emptive before swapping out. They also eat up the 1T grace period call effects have (Raines call is 2T and usually doesn't tick down until the caller's next turn: i.e. Raines is called, caller acts (Raines LDCA still shows 2T remaining) but with pre-emptives it will go Raines LDCA -> Pre-emptive -> caller acts -> Call shows 1T remaining) so keep this in mind when preparing for Reks' BT phase.
BT Phase: S2 -> EX -> LD -> S1 -> S1 -> FR -> Finisher
Mutual Improvement (FR) conditions ask for
Thunder damage on turn (30%)
Attacking member has special effect on turn (40%)
Absorb/Reduce BRV DMG taken once per turn (20%)
Mainly useful for on turn, but gets good gains off turn when enemies hit Reks, a shield or Celes/Leon
