Sphere Recommendations

NOTE: The sphere letters below are hyperlinked to our Sphere Hub which lists all available spheres sorted by effect!
  • A Sphere - Focus ATK or BRV DMG- numerous options for you. Ranged/Physical Attack also work.

  • C Sphere - Avoid healing triggers. Alphinaud is probably the most consistent he can use, but you can expand his role a little by giving him Ceodore sphere so he heals a little.

  • E Sphere - Avoid any spheres that inflict debuffs. Seymour, Yuffie, Irvine etc are great for boosting his ATK (and mBRV).

How-To-Play Notes

  • Laguna’s LD and BT debut brings his damage up to par with the current content allowing him to function well in the party. His LD allows him to follow-up all of his attacks and inflicts a strong debuff on the enemy. His BT puts another strong debuff on the enemy, allowing him to follow-up anytime an enemy takes HP damage, greatly increasing Laguna’s damage. He also has a very strong HP cap that depends on the number of debuffs on the enemy. When building your party, keep in mind that Laguna has up to 5 framed debuffs, only leaving 3 slots for your party members and calls.

  • Grenade (S1) is a split damage aoe attack inflicts 2 generic debuffs on the enemy and grants Laguna a generic stat buff.

  • Shotgun (S2) is a single target HP attack with splash that inflicts a generic debuff on all targets and grants 2 generic buffs to Laguna.

  • Ragnarok Buster (EX) typically requires 2 or 3 skill uses to refill. This attack will inflict all 3 of Laguna’s generic buffs and frame them while granting Laguna his Manly Charm buff.

  • Ragnarok Blade (LD) grants Look, the Faeries are here! to Laguna. This also inflicts Cuchi-Cuchi Treatment to all targets. This LD buff grants stat and HP damage boosts to Laguna and allows him to follow-up after any HP attack Laguna makes. Cuchi-Cuchi Treatment has strong stat debuffs and HP Damage Resist Down on the target depending on the number of debuffs on the target.

  • Laguna’s BT grants his strong BT aura and inflicts the gold-framed Desperado debuff. The BT effect aura grants a decent BRV damage limit and a very strong HP damage limit boost. The HP damage limit boost is dependent on the number of debuffs on the target. The Desperado debuff reduces the target’s defense and HP damage resistance and allows Laguna to perform a follow up anytime the target takes HP damage based on Laguna's ATK.

    • Even if swapped out for a friend, this trap can hit for full damage with enough HP DMG modifiers! Making him a great swap out or friend unit!

    • Desperado can also trigger as many times as there are enemies on the field (so up to 3x if certain attacks individually hit each enemy like Ace or Sice traps)
